I'm Salvatore “Sammy” Prato, owner of At Ease Inspections. I served as a U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Squad Leader, including a deployment to Afghanistan, where I developed the attention to detail, discipline, and leadership that continue to shape every inspection I perform.

Today, I serve as a firefighter/paramedic in the Chicagoland area and bring years of hands-on construction and trade experience to every inspection. That background gives me a sharp eye for life-safety concerns, structural integrity, and the issues most commonly hidden within a home.

As an Illinois-licensed, InterNACHI Certified Master Inspector (CMI®), the industry's highest designation, I go well beyond the state's minimum standards. I'm available before, during, and after your inspection, and my reports explain not just what I found, but what it means and what to do next.

I am a building engineer with more than 10 years of experience maintaining and operating residential, commercial, and institutional properties. My background includes extensive hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, giving me a strong understanding of how buildings function and how to identify potential concerns before they become costly problems.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams on both existing facilities and new construction projects. This experience has provided me with a unique perspective on building performance, maintenance, and long-term reliability.

I take pride in providing honest, thorough, and dependable inspections. My goal is to help clients better understand their property so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

With more than 15 years of hands-on residential construction experience and 10 years of service as a firefighter, I bring a unique combination of building knowledge, safety awareness, and attention to detail to every inspection.

My construction background provides a strong understanding of how homes are built, while my firefighting experience has sharpened my ability to identify safety concerns and potential hazards that may otherwise go unnoticed.
